Your Nature Wave home panel combines 660 nm visible red light and 850 nm near-infrared (NIR) light. Both wavelengths operate together when the panel is switched on. This guide is intended to remind you of the home-use instructions demonstrated by Nature Wave.
QUICK HOME-USE GUIDE
• Distance: approximately 6-12 inches from the stationary panel.
• Session: maximum 20 minutes total - typically about 10 minutes front + 10 minutes back.
• Frequency: 3-6 sessions per week; no more than one session per day.
• Eyes: wear the protective glasses supplied by Nature Wave for the entire session.
• Skin: expose the intended skin where practical. Do not move closer to compensate for clothing.
• Important: never place the panel directly against the skin.
1. How should I use my Nature Wave home panel?
Use the panel for a maximum of 20 minutes per session - approximately 10 minutes facing the panel and 10 minutes with your back toward the panel.
Keep your body approximately 6-12 inches from the stationary panel. Use the panel 3-6 times per week, with no more than one session per day.
Wear the protective glasses supplied by Nature Wave for the entire session, including when your back is facing the panel. Never place the panel directly against your skin.
2. Should the light be used through clothing?
For light to reach the intended skin effectively, expose as much of the area as is comfortable and appropriate.
Clothing can reduce the amount of red and near-infrared light reaching the skin, depending on the material, thickness, weave and colour. Do not compensate for clothing by moving closer to the panel or increasing the exposure time.
3. Why does the panel use both 660 nm and 850 nm?
Your home panel combines 660 nm visible red light and 850 nm near-infrared light. Red light is absorbed predominantly in more superficial tissues, while near-infrared light can penetrate more deeply, although the amount reaching different tissues varies.
Both wavelengths operate simultaneously in your Nature Wave home panel. You do not need to select or adjust them separately.
4. Why shouldn't I move closer or use the light for longer?
With photobiomodulation, more light does not necessarily produce a greater biological response. The amount of light delivered depends on factors including wavelength, irradiance (light intensity), distance and exposure time.
Do not try to obtain a stronger effect by moving closer than the recommended distance or extending the session. Remain approximately 6-12 inches away and do not exceed the recommended 20-minute total session.
5. Should I feel heat from the panel?
You may notice mild, comfortable warmth during a session. Heat is not a measure of whether photobiomodulation is working, and you should not move closer simply because you want to feel more warmth.
The session should remain comfortable. If the light feels excessively hot, causes burning, significant discomfort or an unusual skin reaction, stop the session and contact Nature Wave before continuing.
6. Do I need to wear the protective glasses?
Yes. Wear the protective glasses supplied with your Nature Wave panel for the entire 20-minute session, including when your back is facing the panel.
Do not stare directly into the illuminated LEDs. If you have an existing eye condition, unusual light sensitivity, recent eye surgery or another concern involving your eyes, consult an appropriate healthcare or eye-care professional before using the panel.
7. What if I take medication or use products that make me sensitive to light?
Some medications, supplements and topical products can increase sensitivity to light.
If you know that you are photosensitive, have previously experienced unusual reactions to light, or use a medication or product carrying a photosensitivity warning, check with your pharmacist or healthcare professional before using the panel.
8. Can I use the panel if I am pregnant?
Because safety information for red and near-infrared photobiomodulation during pregnancy is limited, Nature Wave recommends discussing its use with your healthcare professional before using the panel during pregnancy.
9. What if I have a tumor, cyst or another medical condition in the area being exposed?
If you have a known or suspected tumor, do not intentionally expose that area with the Nature Wave home panel unless your treating healthcare professional has advised that light exposure is appropriate for you.
For cysts or other diagnosed medical conditions, discuss use of the panel with the healthcare professional managing that condition when there is uncertainty about whether the area should be exposed.
The Nature Wave home panel is provided for complementary wellness use and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent cancer or other diseases.
10. How quickly should I expect to notice a difference?
Responses can vary considerably from one person to another. What someone notices - and when - may depend on the reason for using the light, the area exposed, the light dose, consistency of use and individual biological differences.
Some people report noticing changes relatively quickly, while other changes may be gradual or difficult to assess subjectively. Do not increase exposure time or move closer simply because you do not notice an immediate change.
For visually observable changes, such as skin appearance, photographs taken under similar lighting and conditions may provide a useful comparison over time.
11. What should I do if I feel uncomfortable or have an unusual reaction?
Sessions should be comfortable. Stop the session if you experience painful heat, burning, significant skin irritation, unusual or persistent visual symptoms, dizziness, or another reaction that concerns you.
Do not experiment with different exposure times or distances on your own. Contact Nature Wave regarding use of the panel. If symptoms are significant, persistent, or appear to require medical attention, contact an appropriate healthcare professional.
12. What is the best time of day to use the panel?
For general wellness use, Nature Wave does not require the panel to be used at a particular time of day. Choose a time that allows you to use it comfortably and consistently while following the recommended schedule.
If using the panel at a particular time seems to interfere with your comfort or sleep routine, choose an earlier time. There is no need to coordinate home sessions with exercise or meals unless you have received specific professional advice for another reason.
13. Can I divide my 20 minutes into several sessions during the day?
Nature Wave recommends one session per day rather than repeatedly exposing yourself for short sessions throughout the day.
The normal home-use session is a maximum of 20 minutes total, typically approximately 10 minutes facing the panel and 10 minutes with your back toward it. Do not interpret 20 minutes as 20 minutes for the front plus another 20 minutes for the back.
Do not repeat the session later in the day because you feel the first session did not produce enough effect.
14. Is mild redness or warmth after a session normal?
Some people may notice temporary warmth or mild skin flushing following exposure to a bright light panel. The important distinction is between mild, temporary warmth or flushing and an uncomfortable reaction.
The light should not cause painful heating, burning or significant persistent skin irritation. If that occurs, stop using the panel and contact Nature Wave. Seek appropriate healthcare advice if a reaction is significant or persists.
Feeling more heat does not mean you are receiving a better session.
15. What are the most important rules to remember?
• Keep your body approximately 6-12 inches from the stationary panel.
• Use a maximum of 20 minutes total per session, normally about 10 minutes front + 10 minutes back.
• Use the panel 3-6 times per week and no more than once per day.
• Wear the supplied protective glasses throughout the entire session.
• Expose the intended skin where practical; do not move closer or increase the time to compensate for clothing.
• Never place the panel directly against your skin.
• Do not deliberately expose a known or suspected tumor without appropriate healthcare guidance.
• Check with a pharmacist or healthcare professional if you use medication or products associated with photosensitivity.
• Stop if the exposure becomes uncomfortably hot or causes an unusual reaction.
• Do not change the recommended time or distance because you believe more light will produce a better result.
