• Examples of fungal infections include athlete's foot, candidiasis (yeast infection), and ringworm. Fungi also play vital ecological roles as decomposers and symbiotic partners in mycorrhizal associations.

• Parasites are organisms that live on or inside a host organism, relying on it for nutrients and survival. They can be unicellular (protozoa) or multicellular (helminths or worms).
